This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned law enforcement executive to lead a team of over 440 dedicated members in providing essential law enforcement, public safety, and protection to the community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of inspiring trust and confidence in the community. They will possess the skills to energize, support, and develop a diverse team, working collaboratively with the Police Service Board, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Greater Sudbury Police Service in providing exceptional law enforcement and public safety services to the community.
  • Develop and implement a service delivery model that prioritizes community well-being and supports members of the Service with effective resourcing and development opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including the Police Service Board, staff, volunteers, and community groups.
  • Make strategic decisions that balance the needs of the community with the resources available to the Service.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in law enforcement, with a confirmed rank of Inspector or above. They will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of dedicated professionals. A modern policing management approach and a commitment to community safety and well-being are essential for this role.
