Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the accounting and administrative department. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for managing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, billing, collections, and payroll.
  • Cash Flow Management: Prepare cash-flow reports, forecast cash requirements, and manage daily cash flow.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budget and forecasts, and monitor them monthly.
  • Financial Reporting: Present monthly financial reports to the executive team and partners.
  • Process Improvement: Research, plan, and implement Finance Department initiatives, such as software/systems upgrades and other improvements.
  • Financial Statement Closure: Oversee monthly and annual financial statement closure, account reconciliations, and G/L analysis.
  • Cash Collection: Ensure timely cash collection through billing schedules and cash management techniques.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the executive team and partners for efficient firm-wide operations.
  • Policies and Procedures: Evaluate, implement, and enhance policies, procedures, controls, and methodologies.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing team's deliverables to meet client expectations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably as a Controller.
  • Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business field.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to accept feedback gracefully. Costing experience, CPA certification required. Preferably experience with Epicor. Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changes quickly, work diligently under pressure, and excel in a dynamic environment. Excellent technology, analytics, and management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and adept at delivering effective presentations. Self-motivated individual who proactively takes on challenges with a knack for solving problems creatively. Deadline-oriented, meticulous, and excels in fast-paced environments.
