Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and characterize incoming waste materials to determine their suitability for processing.
  • Coordinate with operational personnel to ensure that waste materials are properly handled and processed.
  • Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed in the workplace.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for improving waste management processes.
  • Identify and implement more efficient technologies for reusing, recycling, and disposing of waste materials.
  • Participate in the implementation of process improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with external suppliers.
  • Support the compliance department in preparing environmental reports and supplier qualification programs.
  • Conserve documents and databases.
  • Write and present suggestions for optimizing processes.
  • Examine and modify written procedures.
  • Present periodic data and analysis results to the plant management team.
  • Work collaboratively to resolve process and waste management issues.
  • Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and team discussions.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or environmental science.
  • Membership or eligibility to the Order of Chemists of Quebec.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving approach.
  • Strong team spirit.
  • Ability to lift 20 kg.
  • Ability to collect, correlate, analyze, and report data from various sources.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) in the waste management industry is an asset.
