Position Overview
As a vital member of our team, the Cafeteria Service Associate plays a crucial role in fostering a welcoming environment for our internal guests, ensuring their needs are met during every shift. We seek enthusiastic individuals who are proactive, driven, and committed to delivering a pleasant dining experience for our employees. This role offers an opportunity to enhance your skills in Guest Services or pursue a career in the culinary field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a friendly and inviting atmosphere for all guests (employees).
- Serve and assist with meal preparations in our staff cafeteria.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of high-touch areas while ensuring proper meal control.
- Collaborate with the Chef to understand daily tasks and complete preparation lists.
- Restock clean dishes, glassware, and utensils as needed.
- Replenish condiments, bread, juice, and coffee stations.
- Sweep and mop floors, and sanitize tables and chairs.
- While this is an entry-level position, experience in exceptional guest service is essential, and assistance in the kitchen during quieter periods is expected.
- Execute specific tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef or Chef on duty.
- Set up buffet stations prior to meal service.
- Adhere to food consumption control protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be a team player.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, and pulling up to 40lbs, and able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Safe Food Handling Certificate is required.
- High school diploma and some post-secondary education or vocational training in the industry is an asset.
