Key Responsibilities
The housekeeper is responsible for a range of essential tasks throughout the facility, adhering to health, safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols to maintain a secure environment for everyone, including:
- Cleaning patient accommodations and performing tasks such as mopping floors, sanitizing furniture, cleaning bathroom fixtures, dusting lamps, changing beds, and other general cleaning duties.
- Utilizing cleaning equipment like vacuums, mops, and various cleaning tools.
- Maintaining cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, corridors, hallways, stairways, and other workspaces while upholding the required health and hygiene standards.
- Sanitizing toilets, showers, countertops, and sinks.
- Washing walls, ceilings, doors, and trim by hand or with appropriate equipment.
- Cleaning, washing, dusting, or polishing hardware, furniture, mirrors, lighting fixtures, windows, and other surfaces.
- Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry.
- Ensuring bathrooms are stocked with clean linens, toiletries, and other necessary supplies.
- Emptying waste receptacles and replacing liners.
- Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting is advantageous.
- Training in infection prevention and control is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent work ethic and attendance record.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and afternoons, as per the schedule.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting up to 30lbs, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and engaging in repetitive movements.
