The Senior Account Executive - Grocery Sector is responsible for managing and directing account management efforts for designated key accounts. This role is pivotal in fostering and nurturing robust relationships with significant clients. The individual will focus on enhancing sales and revenue for the total Wine & RTD portfolio, particularly within the Ontario Market Modernization, while executing strategic sales plans.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management:
Develop and sustain relationships with major accounts by comprehending their business goals, pinpointing growth avenues, and offering customized solutions. Work collaboratively with internal teams to formulate account-specific strategies and initiatives. Ensure achievement of targets related to revenue, volume, and market share.
Sales Forecasting and Budget Management:
Create and oversee precise sales forecasts for key accounts, considering market trends, historical performance, and ongoing activities. Partner with internal teams to synchronize supply and distribution strategies to fulfill customer demands. Supervise trade expenditure and promotional budgets, ensuring effective use and return on investment while upholding profitability objectives. Evaluate sales data and trade promotion effectiveness to provide informed recommendations for future sales and marketing approaches.
Client Relationship Management:
Act as the primary liaison for key accounts, addressing inquiries, resolving challenges, and delivering outstanding customer service. Conduct regular business assessments, monitor account performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
Market Research and Insights:
Remain updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Conduct market analysis, interpret data, and provide insights to inform decision-making and stimulate business growth.
Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Collaborate with various internal departments, including portfolio management, marketing, operations, business intelligence, and finance, to ensure the successful implementation of sales and marketing strategies. Coordinate product launches, promotional events, and logistics to meet customer expectations.
Sales Reporting and Performance Analysis:
Generate regular sales reports, performance evaluations, and forecasts for management review. Track key performance indicators, identify trends, and develop strategic action plans to meet sales goals.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing a significant Key Account or Regional market
- Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) is a strong asset
- Background in the alcoholic beverage sector is highly desirable
- WSET Certification is a valuable asset
