As a key member of the Corporate Purchasing division, the Senior Procurement Specialist will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain Services at Johnson Electric Canada. This role is pivotal in spearheading the development, execution, and realization of purchasing strategies aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness of Johnson Electric Canada. A vital aspect of this position involves cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with essential suppliers to support the objectives of the organization. Occasional travel within North America and to global facilities may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the formulation and execution of core product strategies. Exhibit advanced negotiation and program management capabilities, leading sourcing initiatives, influencing critical decision-makers, and fostering successful collaborations with internal stakeholders. Guide the establishment of core product strategies, objectives, and deliverables. Investigate potential suppliers that align with the Global Strategies, Mission Statement, and Core Values of Johnson Electric Canada. Forge strong partnerships with key suppliers and enhance existing relationships. Develop and implement processes that optimize the Total Cost of Ownership across the supply chain. Advocate for continual cost improvement initiatives. Understand that Total Cost of Ownership encompasses both direct costs (packaging, freight, tooling, unit price, terms, currency) and indirect costs (performance metrics, quality, economic order quantity). Provide guidance and support to suppliers throughout all phases of program management and product introductions. Maintain consistent communication with key suppliers regarding performance indicators. Play an integral role in advancing the overarching goals of Global Purchasing. Analyze expenditure and budget data, present insights, and offer recommendations to senior management to enhance financial performance and achieve cost savings. Adhere to Johnson Electric's Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001. Perform additional duties as required.Qualifications:
A university degree in Engineering or Business is preferred. Strong leadership and team-building skills are essential. Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify business needs, design and implement solutions, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues diplomatically. Experience with ERP systems is required. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with all organizational levels, including Senior Management. Proven negotiation skills are necessary. A mechanical or technical aptitude is required. Must demonstrate integrity and be a collaborative team player. Documented experience in establishing contractual agreements with suppliers.Technical & Skill Requirements:
Experience in Indirect Purchasing (MRO) is required, preferably within the manufacturing sector. A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in indirect purchasing (MRO) is required.Benefits:
