Job Overview:

The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Anesthetic Care Unit at BC Children's Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing care to young patients and their families. This role encompasses comprehensive patient evaluations, therapeutic interventions, educational outreach, and health promotion initiatives. The successful candidate will foster an inclusive and secure environment for all individuals, aligning with the hospital's policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document and maintain accurate patient health records
  • Design and implement direct care plans for pediatric patients
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health care team to assess and enhance patient care
  • Educate patients, their families, and caregivers on health matters
  • Identify educational needs and engage in relevant activities to address them
  • Participate in the orientation and ongoing education of staff
  • Serve as a clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current registration as a practicing RN
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience in pediatric PACU or pediatric critical care
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support
