The Director of Operations at CO_38 Bird Construction Group plays a pivotal leadership role, tasked with overseeing the quality and execution of construction initiatives. Reporting directly to the regional Vice President and District Manager, this position is responsible for leading the Operations department and managing project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership Development
  • Foster a corporate culture that aligns with the organization's core values.
  • Engage in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for new talent.
  • Enhance employee skills through coaching and mentoring.
  • Drive initiatives focused on employee engagement and diversity.
  • Ensure effective workforce planning to meet operational needs.

  • Participate in talent reviews and succession planning activities.

Operations Oversight
  • Provide strategic guidance to proposal and project teams.

  • Support the Estimating and Pre-construction departments.
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control initiatives.
Resource Allocation

  • Identify new market opportunities and business initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in project management.
  • Ability to lead effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
