Nutritional Services Aide

The DIETARY AIDE plays a vital role in the Food & Nutrition Services department within a long-term care setting. This position is responsible for ensuring the overall satisfaction and care of each Resident and Guest during meal times. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and portioning meals for resident dining areas.
- Assisting Residents during meal times.
- Serving meals in accordance with therapeutic diet orders.
- Transporting dishes to and from the kitchen before and after meals.
You will deliver friendly, courteous, and attentive service, promoting each Resident's independence by involving them in simple food-service tasks and decisions during meal times.
Our ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Completion or enrollment in an accredited Food Service Worker program (required).
- Valid Food Handler Certificate (required).
- Grade 12 diploma is mandatory.
- Previous experience in food service within long-term care is preferred.
- Proficiency in food preparation and serving techniques.
- Demonstrated safe food handling practices.
- A strong motivation to deliver high-quality work efficiently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
- Willingness to accept and follow directions, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with residents and colleagues.
