We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nutrition Aide to join our team at the University Health Network. As a Nutrition Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nutrition Services department in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Room Service Choice Project Implementation: Focus on the implementation of the Room Service Choice project, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication with patients and staff.
- Patient Menu Management: Obtain menu choices from patients via patient visitation, ensuring accurate and timely recording of preferences.
- Nutrition Centre Preparation: Prepare and stock the nutrition centre with required items for patient meals, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Food Preparation and Delivery: Prepare tray add-ons, meal changes, and special tube feeding, delivering food trays and snacks to patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Tray Collection and Cleaning: Collect empty trays from patient rooms and transport dirty food trucks to the basement, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
- Cross-Functional Duties: Perform cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent.
- Certifications: Food Handler's Certificate (on-the-job certification provided).
- Experience: 3 months to less than 6 months of practical and related experience and/or 1 month to less than 3 months of on-the-job training.
- Skills: Ability to read/understand short notes, brief forms, and memos; ability to perform simple mathematical calculations; ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 5 kg and pushing heavy food trucks.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to work in a professional and courteous manner, producing high-quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards; exercise initiative and good judgment, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
The successful candidate will be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays, and may be required to work at multiple areas as well as rotating shifts in emergency situations.
