Challenges You Will Address
At Carta, we are driven by the mission to unlock equity ownership for a wider audience. The challenges we tackle today pave the way for future opportunities. As a Lead Software Engineer on the Identity Management (IM) team, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, maintaining, and supporting identity management services across all Carta products, including login, registration, session management, auditing, multi-factor authentication (MFA), OAuth, permissions, and single sign-on (SSO).
- Enhancing service resilience, availability, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Managing standalone services effectively.
- Facilitating improved troubleshooting and monitoring for authentication and authorization services.
- Collaborating with various teams within the organization to resolve complex permission issues and address security challenges.
Your Team
The Identity Management (IM) team is a dedicated software engineering group responsible for creating services utilized by Carta's entire product suite to authenticate and authorize millions of users. We serve as the guardians of Carta, ensuring secure access to our systems and resources with appropriate access levels. Our team is highly impactful and cross-functional, thriving on solving large-scale challenges.
Your Profile
You possess robust technical expertise, are enthusiastic about projects that drive scalability, and enjoy collaborating closely with stakeholders across engineering and product teams. You have experience in monolithic environments and understand the challenges that arise as organizations expand. Ideally, you have played a role in transitioning from a monolithic architecture to microservices.
With over 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack software development as an individual contributor, you have a track record of designing and deploying scalable, production-grade products utilizing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices. You are passionate about authentication technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect. Familiarity with our technology stack, including Python, ReactJS, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CircleCI, Datadog, and gRPC, is advantageous.
