Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to provide consults to the pediatric unit, the emergency department, and maintain a community-based practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide community child and adolescent mental health services in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and community mental health services
- Deliver Child & Adolescent Psychiatry community mental health and inpatient services
- Offer developmental delay and mental health services
- Provide private child and adolescent psychiatry services in the community
- Support KBRH's 12-bed general adult inpatient unit while providing on-call coverage
Our team strives to provide quality psychiatric care to residents throughout the Kootenay Boundary region. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and contribute to the development of a small Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in-patient unit.
We offer teaching opportunities to locally placed UBC students and Family Medicine and Psychiatry residents. Additionally, opportunities are available for those with a desire to pursue an administrative leadership role or further develop a subspecialty area of interest, such as addictions.
Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health's NAVIG8 Program, a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for physicians to address the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills that high potential, emerging medical leaders require to step into leadership roles early in their careers.
