Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Atlantic Towing Limited's policies and management system requirements on board, motivating crew members to adhere to safety and environmental protection policies.
  • Issue clear and concise orders, ensuring navigation and day-to-day operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor vessel certification status and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Report accidents, incidents, and nonconformities, and implement personnel-related procedures and arrangements.
  • Prepare and submit management and performance reports, as required.
Requirements:
  • Certificate of Competency that complies with Flag State requirements for trading area and STCW endorsement.
  • GMDSS.
  • Marine Emergency Duties.
  • Transport Canada Marine Medical.
  • Marine First Aid & CPR.
  • H2S Alive.
  • WHMIS.
  • 5 years of experience as Master in a relevant field or one level below, or completion of a relevant training/simulator program.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate (TDG).
Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience.
  • 500 Ton Command Endorsement Certificate.
  • Certificate of Competency that complies with Flag State requirements for trading area and STCW endorsement.
  • GMDSS - GOC.
  • Marine Emergency Duties (including MED Refreshers).
  • Transport Canada Marine Medical.
  • Marine Basic or Advanced First Aid and CPR.
  • WHMIS.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate (TDG).
