About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Logistics and Distribution Director to join our team at Wing Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the movement of materials and products, ensuring cost and delivery optimization, and driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and warehouse management
  • Ensuring compliance with associated policies and processes across all locations
  • Reviewing and preparing manpower and space requirements to align with business needs
  • Providing functional and process support for international warehouse and distribution resources
  • Managing relationships with freight providers and forwarders
  • Planning and optimizing inbound logistics and maintaining data associated with inbound delivery schedules and costs
  • Implementing and overseeing processes to manage compliance risk, while distributing materials and products efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Optimizing warehouse process efficiency and proactive cost management of warehouse
  • Executing repairs in designated locations, including 3rd party contract repairs
  • Coordinating customer value-added services as required by key customers
  • Managing ERP logic related to warehouse, inventory, allocation, order fulfillment, and shipping/delivery information
  • Managing and overseeing the budget for all warehousing activity, including workforce and resource planning
  • Maintaining metrics and analyzing data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Collaborating with cross-functional initiatives to continuously improve and streamline fulfillment operations
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a management position, including experience in a warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environment
  • Experience in customs and trade compliance is an asset
  • A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is preferred
  • Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or Distribution certification from a recognized authority is preferable
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, process, and policy development, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in ERP and MS Office suite of software
  • Ability to travel to all warehouse locations on a regular basis
Knowledge Requirements
  • Leadership and Management: Effective people management and cross-functional collaboration, as evidenced by low turnover rates, high team morale, and positive feedback from direct reports and cross-functional team members
  • Logistics and Distribution Best Practices and Regulatory Requirements: Understanding of best practices in customs and trade compliance, warehousing, shipping, and distribution, as well as all job-relevant and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strategic Planning: Proven ability to envision and plan for the future of logistics and distribution within the company, aligning it with broader corporate goals
