Job Summary

The Host/Hostess is responsible for providing exceptional patient care by assisting with meal selection, service, and retrieval in accordance with patient dietary needs and restrictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with meal selection and service, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of meals.
  • Prepare and assemble patient meal trays and snacks, adhering to dietary guidelines and restrictions.
  • Calculate and record modified diets, fluid restrictions, and calorie intake for patients.
  • Perform various kitchen duties, including sanitation, setup, and temperature logging.
  • Utilize an automated tablet to record and transfer meal selections to the computer system.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current and valid Food Safety Proton Certificate from Public Health.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a host/hostess.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic diet information.
  • Good command of the English language, including reading, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
