Part-Time Bilingual Educator Needed

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for dedicated part-time educators to join our team at our learning center. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, imparting knowledge of language intricacies, and are committed to fostering skill development.

As a tutor-educator at Oxford Learning, you will benefit from pre-planned lessons, eliminating the need for extensive lesson preparation. Comprehensive training in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies will be provided.

Position Requirements

All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school hours and evenings, as well as on Saturdays. A commitment to the entire term is preferred, with opportunities to continue through the summer. Reliability is essential, as students will look forward to your sessions.

This position requires in-person attendance, and candidates must be able to commute to the learning center. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

We invite applications from individuals who meet most of the following criteria:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Familiarity with the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Details)

In this role, you will work closely with students as an Interactive Coach, with responsibilities including:

  • Instructing up to three students at varying levels
  • Utilizing both online and in-person teaching methods
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times
