Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a key member of our project team, you will play a critical role in driving project success and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement project plans, including research, statistics, and analysis to inform policy recommendations.
    • Lead project elements, such as administering grants and validating applications.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Draft documents and briefings with other sector units.
    • Advise project teams on government approval and decision-making processes.
    • Develop communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Monitor project progress, deliverables, and budget against the project plan.
    • Provide regular status reporting to the Project Manager, Director, and Executive Management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • University graduation in a field related to the position assignment (e.g., business, engineering, etc.) supplemented by two years progressively responsible experience.
    • Directly related education or experience considered on a one-for-one basis.
    • At least two years' experience working in a project-based environment.
  • Technical Competencies
    • Knowledge of relevant Alberta Education and Alberta Infrastructure policies, regulations, processes, and standards.
    • Demonstrated competence in the use of software and system tools.
    • Research and analytical skills to synthesize data and develop recommendations.
