Job Title: Landscaping Supervisor

Kenny Landscaping & Lawncare ltd. is seeking a skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and construction of outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties efficiently.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring that all outdoor spaces are well-maintained and meet company standards.
  • Organize and Direct Construction Projects: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative walls, and other landscape features, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate with contractors and staff to ensure that all landscape construction projects are completed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of staff hours, materials used, and project progress, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all equipment is in good working order, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Source and procure all necessary materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Initiative, team player, flexibility.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Assist with Immediate Settlement Needs: Support newcomers and refugees with housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Support Social and Labour Market Integration: Facilitate access to community resources, language training, skills training, and other support services.
  • Recruit Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit displaced individuals, such as those from Ukraine or Afghanistan, to join our team.
  • Support Foreign Credential Recognition: Assist newcomers and refugees with recognizing their foreign credentials.
  • Offer Mentorship Programs: Pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees for mentorship and support.
Support for Youths:
  • Offer On-the-Job Training: Provide tailored on-the-job training for youth.
  • Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Pair youth with experienced employees for mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities.
  • Provide Awareness Training: Educate employees on creating a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Veterans:
  • Recruit Veterans: Recruit veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Develop Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Provide Awareness Training: Educate staff on creating a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
