Job Title: Software Development Engineer II, Core Consumables Shopping

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Core Consumables Shopping team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC - K03. As a Software Development Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a world-class shopping experience on amazon.com.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with multiple teams and disciplines across Amazon to create new retail and platform shopping experiences. You will work on a variety of strategic projects for the consumables customer experience across baby, beauty, grocery, and health and personal care in a multi-billion dollar category.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new and existing systems to improve the shopping experience on amazon.com
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software code to meet business requirements
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth operation of systems
Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 4+ years of experience in architecting products or solutions in the JavaEE space
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience building experiences on mobile devices
  • Excellent knowledge of professional software engineering practices
