Senior Software Engineer

The Core Consumables Shopping division is in search of a skilled Software Development Engineer to enhance the shopping journey on our platform. This position presents a unique chance to collaborate with various teams and disciplines to innovate retail and platform shopping experiences. The role encompasses the complete experience across diverse platforms and devices globally, enabling consumers to effortlessly discover, purchase, and reorder essential products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating new capabilities and innovative solutions across search, discovery, evaluation, and purchase processes.
- Implementing up-sell and repurchase strategies through various new formats and delivery options.
- Contributing to strategic projects that enhance the consumables customer experience across multiple categories.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience with new and existing systems.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- 4+ years of experience in architecting products or solutions within the JavaEE framework.
- Desired competencies include: Java, JSP/Java Servlet/Spring/MVC, Distributed Systems, Amazon Web Services, Workflow Systems, JavaScript/HTML/CSS.
- Experience in building data structures and algorithms for large-scale software or online services.
- Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot website performance.
- 3+ years of experience throughout the full software development life cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience in developing mobile device experiences, whether HTML or native (iOS or Android).
- Strong understanding of professional software engineering practices and best practices.
- Experience in building or utilizing web frameworks or shared component libraries in large-scale production environments.
- Familiarity with web standards and protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and socket APIs.
- Knowledge of web server technologies.
- Exceptional written, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with retail websites.
