About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at WHITE STAR CONSTRUCTION LTD. as a Drywall Finisher and Installer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Fills joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet project requirements.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure stability.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a professional finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless joint.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms to facilitate project progress.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced commercial and residential construction environment, with various locations and relocation costs covered by the employer.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty and hot environments, and with tight deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, dependability, and flexibility.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking.

The successful candidate will be required to work in English and will be expected to work 30-40 hours per week.
