Plant Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Woodstock quarry site. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a combination of tasks, including housekeeping activities, operating fixed and mobile equipment, and maintenance tasks on equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Safety: Promote a safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors, and suppliers. Implement and maintain local and regional safety initiatives with the objective of zero safety incidents.
- Ensure the plant and surrounding site are kept safe, presentable, and functional.
- Understand Near Miss and HI process, MVA's, FA's, MI's, LTI's, Daily Safety Huddles, Risk Assessments, Confined Space, and WAH permits.
- Complete cleanup assignments using a skid steer and/or hand-held tools, working safely around moving and/or rotating equipment.
- Perform pre-operational checks and operate assigned mobile equipment as trained and directed.
- Ensure the site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
- Be aware of environmentally sensitive areas and correct environmental problems that may develop in the assigned work area.
- Work in diverse indoor/outdoor environments, including dust, hot, cold, and noise.
- Work in a team environment with other co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program.
- Assist in repairing broken or malfunctioning equipment.
- Assist with plant repairs as needed.
- Work at heights when required.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial/Mining plant operational experience.
- Heavy equipment operation experience an asset.
- Basic welding and fitting is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience in maintenance.
- Working outdoors and varied temperatures and weather conditions.
- Working indoors in varied conditions (ie. hot, noisy, dusty).
- Rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
- Mobility through all areas of the plant required, including stairs and ladders.
- Regular bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting less than 50 lbs.
- Working at heights and confined spaces.
