Maintenance Team Lead Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Team Lead to join our team at PreCon Precast Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing maintenance team, ensuring they meet objectives and adhere to company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach, train, and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
- Develop and implement shift schedules while managing labor resources.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment through compliance with company policies and Health and Safety Program.
- Develop and maintain a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program/schedule.
- Schedule both internal and external work, optimizing planned downtime and reducing unplanned downtime.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and ensure work is completed in a safe manner.
- Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of various electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
- Assist Operations Manager and Senior Management with establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets.
- Manage the process of introducing new machinery, plant, and equipment.
- Manage the process of disposing of obsolete machinery, plant, and equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to maintain continuous production.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
- Develop, implement, and manage work associated with key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and machine performance.
Requirements:
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree.
- Minimum five years plant maintenance/facility maintenance experience with a minimum of two years in a leadership capacity.
- Extensive plant level experience with significant proven people management experience.
- Completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/electrical/electronic discipline.
- Technical capability and understanding.
- Familiarity with OHSA standards relating to industrial and construction operations.
- Experience with PLC controls, PC's, PM, and TPM systems.
- Experience in managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance.
- Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
