About the Role

Rocky View Schools is seeking a Support Substitute (Learning Assistant) to join our team on a casual basis. As a Support Substitute, you will provide support to students in various educational settings, working closely with teachers and other educational professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with extreme and complex behavioral and emotional needs
  • Assist students with individualized programming plans, including personal care, toileting, and feeding
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create a safe and optimal learning environment
  • Establish positive relationships with students and provide assistance as needed
Requirements
  • Education Assistant Certificate or enrolled in an education assistant program
  • Training in preventative/de-escalating behavior course or willingness to become certified
  • Experience working with students with extreme and complex behavioral and emotional needs in an educational setting
