Position Summary
The Retail Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, while overseeing staff performance during designated shifts.
This position is responsible for maintaining the store's visual standards and product presentation, serving as a knowledgeable resource for team members. Key responsibilities include supervising employees, assisting cashiers, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing cash transactions, handling administrative tasks, setting security alarms, and keeping the sales floor organized and presentable.
All Retail Shift Supervisors are expected to exemplify compliance and education, leading by example, providing training, and reinforcing company policies. Additionally, this role involves escalating employee concerns and customer inquiries to management for resolution.

- Open and close the retail store, including managing alarm systems.

- Support team member onboarding, training, and ongoing education.
- Encourage team commitment to service excellence, exceeding customer expectations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of and uphold departmental policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve customer complaints professionally.
- Assist in implementing sales strategies and motivate the sales team to meet targets.
- Communicate any changes in policies, procedures, or promotions affecting customers.
- Identify and propose technology solutions to meet customer needs.
- Escalate team member issues to management as necessary.
- Act as a champion for education and compliance within the team.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the retail sector.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in customer service across various settings.
- Clear criminal background check.
- Provincial Cannabis Certification is mandatory.
- Manual dexterity is required for computer and peripheral use.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
