We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will provide clinical and technical support in the pre-operative areas, operating rooms, and post-anesthesia care units.
The successful candidate will participate in the clinical management of patients, ensuring all resources required for anesthetic care are available and ready for use. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists or eligibility for registration
- Completion of an Anesthesia Assistant certification
- CSRT membership with CCAA designation considered an asset
- Minimum of two years experience as a respiratory therapist, preferably in the operating room area
- Previous experience in anesthesia care an asset
- Degree preferred; previous anesthesia courses an asset
- Current BLS-C (HCP) and ACLS certification
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for patient care, we encourage you to apply.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. Shift work will include days, nights, and weekends. The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $51.31 per hour.
