Project Planning and Scheduling Specialist

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Project Planning and Scheduling Specialist to join our team. This opportunity is based out of our Markham, ON office with options for hybrid work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-depth analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Support the development of plans and schedules for proposals, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Collaborate with junior staff to assign tasks and provide guidance on project controls.
  • Track and analyze corrective actions to ensure project schedules are on track.
  • Coordinate schedule input from various parts of the organization to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify and analyze project schedule variances, recommending corrective actions to ensure project success.
  • Produce scheduling management reports to inform project stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and ensure effective project coding for all cornerstone applications.
  • Utilize drawings and specifications to develop accurate project schedules.
  • Expertly develop Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule logic for engineering, procurement, and construction, as well as command of cornerstone scheduling systems.
  • Resource load schedules and perform remedial schedule risk analysis to ensure project feasibility.
  • Assemble data for schedule updating and ensure accurate project progress tracking.
  • Familiarize yourself with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
  • Measure project progress and review invoices of contractors to ensure timely payments.
  • Review purchase orders and subcontract schedule status, providing management with input on subcontract performance.
  • Knowledgeable in scope control and change management, with the ability to incorporate directed changes into schedule baselines.
  • Assume responsibility for some elements of baseline schedule and associated maintenance.
  • Familiarize yourself with basic cost analysis and forecasting as it relates to planning and scheduling.
  • Conduct or assist in performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
  • Support various levels of project reporting and participate in project planning and scheduling review meetings.
  • Assist in procedure development and implementation.
Qualifications:
  • University Degree in a relevant field of study + eight (8) years of relevant experience working in project controls.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Experience working in project controls on transit projects is an asset.
