Position Overview

The H2S Safety Supervisor plays a crucial role in safeguarding personnel working in hazardous environments by ensuring they have access to essential safety services and equipment to uphold a secure work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead safety discussions with team members and clients on-site.
  • Install breathing air and portable gas detection systems according to HSE protocols and client specifications.
  • Conduct site-specific orientations for new employees regarding emergency procedures and the location of safety equipment and assembly points.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with HSE regulations, traffic laws, and private road standards.
  • Engage in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills alongside clients and staff.
  • Provide hands-on training for employees on the correct usage of breathing air and gas detection apparatus.
  • Execute bump tests, functionality assessments, and routine maintenance of all HSE Integrated equipment daily.
  • Maintain an accurate count of all personnel present on-site.
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding daily operational matters.
  • Ensure that workspaces under supervision are well-maintained and presentable.
  • Foster a professional rapport with all individuals in the work area.
  • Complete all necessary documentation promptly.
  • Regularly update Operations Coordinators on significant changes that may impact dispatch.
  • May be required to attend live job sites as necessary.
  • Willingness to undertake additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant field experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in maneuvering trailers of various sizes.
  • Solid understanding of drilling, service, and completion operations, along with associated processes.
  • Experience with breathing air systems.
  • Physically capable of performing tasks such as working at heights, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and enduring adverse weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work day or night shifts as required, with potential shift lengths of 10 to 12 hours.

Certifications & Training Required

  • H2S Alive certification.
  • Standard First Aid / CPR certification.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license appropriate for the vehicle class.
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certification.
  • Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certification.
  • Fall Protection training.
  • Fire Extinguisher Level I & II certification.
  • Confined Space Entry Monitoring training.
  • Firewatch training.
  • Experience in setting up air trailers and portable gas detection systems.
  • Ability to conduct field-level equipment maintenance procedures.
