Position Overview

The H2S Safety Supervisor plays a crucial role in safeguarding personnel working in hazardous environments by ensuring the availability of essential services and equipment to uphold a secure workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead safety discussions with team members and clients on-site.
  • Install breathing air and portable gas detection systems according to HSE protocols and client specifications.
  • Conduct site-specific training on emergency protocols and the location of safety resources for new employees.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with HSE regulations and traffic laws.
  • Engage in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills with clients and staff.
  • Provide hands-on training for workers regarding the proper use of breathing air and gas detection equipment.
  • Perform routine bump tests, functionality checks, and maintenance of all HSE Integrated equipment daily.
  • Maintain an accurate count of all personnel present on-site.
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding daily operations.
  • Ensure that work areas under supervision are well-maintained and professional in appearance.
  • Foster a professional rapport with all personnel in the work environment.
  • Complete all necessary documentation promptly.
  • Regularly report to Operations Coordinators about significant changes that may impact operations.
  • Be prepared to attend live job sites as required.
  • Be open to performing additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant field experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in maneuvering various lengths of trailers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of drilling, service, and completion processes.
  • Proficient in operating breathing air systems.
  • Physically capable of performing tasks such as working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, and enduring adverse weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including day and night, with potential for extended hours based on client needs.

Certifications & Training Required

  • H2S Alive certification.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license for the relevant vehicle class.
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certification.
  • Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certification.
  • Fall Protection training.
  • Fire Extinguisher Level I & II training.
  • Confined Space Entry Monitoring training.
  • Firewatch training.
  • Experience in setting up air trailers and portable gas detection systems.
  • Ability to conduct equipment maintenance at the field level.

*Additional training and certifications may be required to meet specific client needs.
