The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Middle School Guidance Counsellor to join our team. As a Guidance Counsellor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual and group counselling to students, focusing on executive functioning, pathway planning, and social-emotional skills development.
  • Collaborating with teachers and parents to develop and implement student support plans.
  • Developing and implementing culturally responsive social-emotional learning (CR-SEL) programming to support the needs of our diverse student population.
  • Providing support and guidance to students with special education needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong foundation in guidance and counselling, with a focus on academic support and student success.
  • Experience working with students in a middle school setting, with a focus on executive functioning, pathway planning, and social-emotional skills development.
  • Special education qualifications and experience working with students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
