Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Middle School Principal to lead our team at Barack and Michelle Obama Middle School. As a key member of our school community, you will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model and promote a culture of equity, respect, and inclusivity among students, staff, and families.
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to improve student achievement and close the achievement gap.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to design and deliver high-quality curriculum and instructional programs.
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers to enhance their instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Manage and allocate resources to ensure the effective operation of the school.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and the community to build trust and foster partnerships.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in education and implement innovative strategies to improve student learning.

Minimum Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Master's degree in educational administration or a related field.
  • Valid administrative licensure from the Minnesota Department of Education.
  • Experience as a school leader or in a similar academic executive-level role.
Preferred Qualifications

The preferred qualifications for this position are:

  • Building or district administrative leadership experience.
  • Teaching experience in a K-12 setting.
  • Experience working with urban schools, students, and families, and outside partners with demonstrated exemplary results.
