We have a strong commitment to 'partnership' projects, collaborating with owners, equipment suppliers, and engineers from the early phases of project development to enhance efficiency. Kiewit consistently seeks improvement opportunities while maintaining key success factors.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor junior superintendents
  • Review and authorize labor composite rate balancing for foremen, apprentices, and workers
  • Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and site superintendent meetings

  • Maintain a daily log for record-keeping purposes
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Recommend necessary changes at the organizational, policy, procedure, or personnel levels
  • Review and approve or deny promotions up to the general foreman level

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a mechanical superintendent or management role (preferably in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, wastewater treatment facilities, etc.)
  • Self-sufficient, highly motivated, and capable of working with minimal oversight

  • Identify and resolve emerging issues effectively
  • Exceptional organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong background in leadership, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract management
  • Functional knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is advantageous as mobility between Canadian provinces is required. Training may be provided as necessary.

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and as part of a team
  • Perform work safely and efficiently, adhering to verbal and written instructions, including safety signs, equipment usage guidelines, and other policies
  • Work during standard business hours to organize and complete tasks within set deadlines. Overtime and weekend work may be required
  • Work location and conditions may vary
