Your Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning, you will be instrumental in shaping the financial landscape of the organization. As the Manager of Financial Planning and Budgeting, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Driving Budget Development:
    Spearhead the creation of annual operating budgets, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives.
    Strategize and manage budget implications, providing insights to senior leadership on enhancement strategies.
    Prepare multi-year financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities for sustainable growth.
  2. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    Conduct thorough financial analyses to support critical institutional initiatives.
    Develop persuasive business cases for strategic projects, advising on budget forecasts and financial statements.
    Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, delivering insights to senior management and external stakeholders.
  3. Operational Excellence:
    Advise and guide budget managers on budget preparation and interpretation of financial results.
    Recommend and implement improvements in financial processes for quality and efficiency.
    Act as a consultant on budget guidelines and financial policies, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  4. Leadership and Mentorship:
    Supervise and mentor a team of Financial Planning Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    Provide leadership in financial analysis processes, ensuring effective teamwork and information sharing.
Qualifications:
  1. An Honours Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  2. CPA designation is required upon hiring.
  3. Strong communication skills with the ability to present to C-Suite executives and stakeholders.
  4. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with expertise in Public Sector Accounting Standards being highly desirable.
  5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  6. Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and strong analytical capabilities.
  7. Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  8. Proven leadership and teamwork abilities.
