Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Budget Development:
    • Develop and implement annual operating budgets that align with our strategic goals.
    • Provide guidance to senior leadership on budget impacts and enhancement strategies.
    • Prepare multi-year financial plans to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to support key business initiatives.
    • Develop compelling business cases for strategic initiatives, including budget forecasts and financial statements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Advise and guide budget managers on budget preparation and financial result interpretation.
    • Recommend and implement quality and efficiency improvements in financial processes.
    • Act as a consultant on budget guidelines and financial policies to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Supervise and mentor a team of Financial Planning Analysts to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Provide leadership in financial analysis processes to ensure effective teamwork and information sharing.
    Requirements:
    • An Honours Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • CPA designation is required at the time of hire.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
    • 5 years of relevant work experience, with expertise in Public Sector Accounting Standards.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Demonstrated competence in financial modeling and strong analytical skills.
    • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proven leadership and teamwork skills.
