About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team in a Clinical Pharmacy Services role. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems, supervising pharmacy support staff, and identifying and resolving drug-related problems.

The successful candidate will provide clinical pharmacy services, including drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, individual and group patient medication teaching, drug information, and educational programs. You will work closely with the medical team to provide discharge medication calendars and counseling to patients, and make therapeutic recommendations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist with a strong background in clinical pharmacy practice. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP-accredited university, and be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia.

Key qualifications include a minimum of two years of experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting, strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics, effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs.

Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
