Pharmacist - Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective drug therapy for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and oversee drug distribution systems, including inpatient and outpatient services.
- Supervise pharmacy support staff and identify and resolve drug-related problems.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, and individual and group patient medication teaching.
- Collaborate with the medical team to make therapeutic recommendations and provide discharge medication calendars and counseling to patients.
- Participate in the orientation and training of Pharmacy Students and other hospital personnel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP (or similar standard) accredited university.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program is preferred.
- Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Minimum two years of experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
