We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective drug therapy for our patients.
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, you will be responsible for participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems, supervising pharmacy support staff, and identifying and resolving drug-related problems. You will also provide clinical pharmacy services, including drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, individual and group patient medication teaching, drug information, and educational programs.
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with medical staff to provide discharge medication calendars and counseling to patients, and make therapeutic recommendations to the medical team. You may also be required to participate in the orientation and training of Pharmacy Students and other hospital personnel.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in pharmacy practice, preferably with a minimum of two years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. You should have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP (or similar standard) accredited university, and be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia.
You should possess strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics, effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in and oversee drug distribution systems

We offer a competitive salary of $53.24 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for up to $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
