Nurse Consultant for Jordan's Principle Initiative

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Consultant to support the Jordan's Principle initiative, which prioritizes the needs of First Nations children. This role is essential in ensuring that these children receive timely access to necessary public services, mirroring the support available to all children.
Role Responsibilities:
- Travel to various communities to provide nursing consultation and support.
- Engage in health education and assess the health needs of children and families.
- Collaborate with care teams to enhance health care navigation and service delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional training in adult education and crisis intervention is advantageous.
Professional Experience:
- Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate nursing regulatory body.
- At least five years of nursing experience, with a minimum of two years in community nursing.
- Experience in supervisory or educational roles is required.
Clinical Skills:
- Strong understanding of nursing practices relevant to children with disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in digital technology and Microsoft Office applications.
Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
