Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Community Health Coordinator to join our team at the Canadian Red Cross. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day delivery of our Health Equipment Loan Program, including the Specialized Equipment Program and Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Occupational Therapist to coordinate the delivery of equipment and services to clients.
- Liaise with hospitals and long-term care facilities to ensure smooth delivery and pickup of equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and statistics in accordance with program policies.
- Coordinate administrative functions, including financial transactions and information flow to the public.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education or diploma in a health-related field, with one to two years of job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant is an asset.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks in a complex client-based environment.
- Strong decision-making abilities, combined with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and administrative skills.
- Previous experience working with volunteers and seniors is considered an asset.
- Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting.
Working Conditions:
- Valid driver's license to travel within Nova Scotia and a satisfactory driver's abstract is required.
