KPMG Canada is seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal to join our team. As a key member of our corporate law group, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our lawyers and clients, ensuring the smooth execution of corporate transactions and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Manage corporate records, including minute books, registers, and ledgers, and oversee the digitization of physical records.
- Prepare documents for corporate formations, amendments, continuances, amalgamations, and dissolutions, as well as sole proprietorships and partnerships.
- Support lawyers with legal and administrative duties, including monitoring corporate law filings and establishing direct client relationships.
- Maintain and contribute to precedent databases and manage communication with lawyers regarding various legal matters.
- Respond to complex requests for information related to corporate secretarial matters from clients.
- Perform online searches and manage corporate law filings, ensuring timely submissions of annual declarations and transactional filings.
- Certificate in Law or Paralegal Diploma with a combination of experience as a corporate law paralegal.
- A minimum of seven (7) years' experience as a Paralegal.
- Experience with corporate transactional work is required.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication, both written and verbal, and ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to handle privileged and confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.
- Self-motivated to achieve high standards in all aspects of work.
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
- Proficient knowledge of English is required for the role.
