Job Description

Executive Director

The Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth seeks a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the Halifax Particular Council (HPC) in its mission to serve those in need. As the Chief Executive Officer of the HPC, the successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the organization through its next stage of development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the HPC and its member conferences.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, funders, and community partners.
  • Lead fundraising efforts to support the organization's projects and programs.
  • Supervise and direct staff, including part-time and potential future employees.
  • Expand financing sources and nurture relations with donors and funders.
  • Develop best practices and policies to support the organization's work, consistent with its values and mission.
  • Improve the visibility and awareness of the organization through promotion and communication, using conventional media and online services.
  • Report on staff activities at monthly meetings and the AGM.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree program, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Masters, preferably in Business Administration, or related field.
  • Highly organized and experienced leader with skills in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience successfully managing people and programs.
  • Solid understanding of financing, strategic planning, and budget preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with volunteers, boards, committees.
  • Able to interpret by-laws, current legislation, acts, and regulations.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Advanced digital literacy and ability to work with/administer platforms and toolsets that facilitate online organizational work.

Work Description

Salary

Based upon experience, with expected range of $80- $90,000.
