Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Services Technician to join our team in Barrie. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and practical experience.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background:
    1. Pursuing a College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
    2. Experience in materials testing and inspection is essential.
    3. Familiarity with computer-assisted drafting (CAD) and surveying is advantageous.
    4. Previous experience in civil construction is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
    1. Conducting field tests and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
    2. Performing compaction tests on subgrade soils, aggregates, and asphalt.
    3. Executing inspections of subgrade and foundation.
    4. Overseeing drill rig operations.
    5. Assisting with Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments.
    6. Supporting field investigations, including supervision of borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, test pit investigations, and sampling of surface water and groundwater.
    7. Compiling, tabulating, and interpreting field and analytical data.
    8. Conducting field tests and sampling of soil, sediment, water, and air.
    9. Engaging in various office and field tasks related to materials testing.
    10. Performing additional duties as required.

Contract Position: This role is offered on a contract basis. A valid driver's license is required.
