Civil Engineering Associate

Become a vital member of our team at HDR as a Civil Engineering Associate, where we prioritize fostering an inclusive atmosphere and making a meaningful difference in the community. In this role, you will contribute to our Water Business Group in Western Canada, engaging in stimulating projects that align with our strategic growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of municipal infrastructure initiatives, site assessments, and design work
  • Facilitate project engineering and oversee task management
  • Execute site layout, grading, utility configuration, and drainage planning
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic simulations
  • Gather, analyze, and present data in reports and public presentations
  • Work autonomously on smaller projects or collaborate with senior engineers on larger assignments
  • Carry out additional project management responsibilities as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in civil or environmental engineering projects
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, AutoCAD, GIS, and MicroStation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Expertise in civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil 3D
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Dedication to actively participating in our employee-owned culture
