The Canadian CED Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in achieving its mission to strengthen local economies across Canada.
As the new Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our strategic plan, including setting short- and long-term objectives and priorities to ensure the organization's continued growth and success.
You will work closely with the leadership team and Board to reframe our revenue strategy and ensure short- and long-term financial sustainability, as well as implement necessary measures to reduce our deficit.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a fundraising and unrestricted revenue strategy that supports our goals and long-term financial sustainability.
- Oversee all communications and public relations/marketing strategies and tactics, including website and social media management.
- Build and nurture relationships with partners and the community, including government agencies, donors, members, and other economic development groups/entities.
- Advise the Board and Policy Council on policy developments, strategy, and emerging member concerns in relation to policy issues.
- Design and implement strategies to further advance equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, both internally and externally.
- Manage approved budgets and provide regular reports on financial performance to the Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and all other statutory and regulatory requirements, and identify and manage risks to organizational health.
- Demonstrated success in securing revenue generation through social enterprise models, grants, sponsorships, or individual donations.
- Experience in working with communities and advocating for sustainable and equitable local economies.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to assess challenges, develop solutions, and assess and mitigate risk.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, with the ability to hold work-related conversations in French and/or a willingness to learn conversational French.
- Prior experience working with a membership-based organization is an asset.
- The legal authority to work in Canada.
- Ability to work in the evenings and weekends when required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $118,000-$135,000, plus extended health benefits, and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Canadians.
