Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Production Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing the complete buying process, working closely with production, manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure optimal quality, pricing, and delivery of components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Management: Manage Fasteners' commodity (approximately 1,000-1,500 SKUs) to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Engineering team to address deviations, specification changes, plating, and raw materials.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth procurement processes.
  • RFx Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and analyze RFx documents to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Order Management: Place and follow up on orders for production, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Contract Management: Manage and adapt the current contract template to meet the company's evolving needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in supply chain or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of sourcing/purchasing experience, with a strong background in managing large numbers of SKUs.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read drawings and technical specifications, with some knowledge of metal plating being an asset.
  • Soft Skills: Well-organized, task-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-changing environment.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience with RFx and offer analysis, strong negotiating skills, and contract management experience in international contracts.
