Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Vice Principal to join our team at the York Region District School Board. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers and staff to enhance student learning and achievement.
  • Develop and implement school improvement plans to address student needs and improve academic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Supervise and evaluate teachers and staff to ensure high-quality instruction and student support.
  • Develop and manage budgets to support school programs and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and the community to build relationships and promote school success.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, with a strong background in elementary education.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of improving student outcomes and staff morale.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on student-centered decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Special Education experience, with a focus on supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation, with a focus on enhancing student learning and achievement.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and its application in the classroom.
  • Experience with budget management and financial planning.
