Job Description

Job Summary

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Elementary Principal to lead our school community. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing educational leadership, promoting student achievement, and fostering a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement school improvement plans to enhance student achievement and well-being
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to promote a sense of community and belonging
  • Manage and allocate resources to support student learning and school operations
  • Collaborate with other school leaders and district staff to advance the board's strategic priorities

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in elementary education
  • Proven track record of improving student achievement and promoting a positive school culture
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional design, with experience in developing and implementing school improvement plans
