Our Academy

The Wood's Homes Academy is a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip trainees with the skills and knowledge required to excel as Youth and Family Counsellors. This 2-week program combines theory and practice, providing opportunities to gain insight and practical skills through our '3 Pillars' approach and Therapeutic Crisis Training.

Responsibilities
  • Develop skills in providing a predictable environment for clients
  • Participate in supervision and team meetings
  • Accurately document daily, weekly, and monthly events and maintain administrative and client records
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings and approved conferences
  • Complete all required health and safety training
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in the Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or Nursing
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Personal suitability
