Position Overview

Join our team at GTA Skilled Trades as a dedicated Millwright and Industrial Mechanic. This permanent position offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week in a dynamic work environment.

Work Environment

  • Work Setting: Maintenance, Service, Repair, Overhaul, Machine Set-up, Shopwork
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve machinery irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace faulty components of machinery.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on various machines.
  • Install new machinery and equipment as required.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices safely.
  • Assemble pipes and piping sections using welding and soldering techniques.
  • Conduct leak tests on pipes using air and water pressure gauges.
Qualifications
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a related field.
  • Certifications: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification and Red Seal Endorsement.
Equipment Proficiency
  • Experience with fans and blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficient in using power tools, pumps, compressors, turbines, and hand tools.
  • Familiarity with storage and silage systems.
Specialized Skills
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and vibration analysis.
Safety and Security
  • Must be bondable.
Transportation Requirements
  • Own transportation is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Willingness to work overtime and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Weight Handling
  • Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
